Call for Volunteers

The backbone of Aurora-King Baseball is our dedicated volunteer base that supports the delivery of the programming we offer to the over 600+ athletes that register with AKBA each year. There are over 100 volunteer positions that we need to fill each year, including coaches, division convenors, Board members and many others.

As we are ramping up for the 2025 season, we are hoping to recruit passionate individuals to volunteer.

Below is a list of positions that we need to fill each season. If you want to get involved in a different way, please reach out to akbaboard@akba.ca and let us know.

All volunteers are required to comply with AKBA’s screening policy and follow the AKBA Code of Conduct.

Volunteer Positions

AKBA Board

In addition to the positions below, each year AKBA seeks nominations for Board positions, as each year there are at least four board positions up for election.

The Board is made up of 9-11 positions in total, including a President and 8-10 Vice Presidents.

Competitive Program Coaches

House League Coaches

Each year, AKBA needs between 30 – 40 volunteers to be head coaches of house league teams. On top of the Head Coach role, all teams need 1 or 2 more volunteer coaches to support the head coach during games and at practices. While prior baseball knowledge is preferable, AKBA is working on tools and resources to support our house league coaches to develop practice plans, game day line ups etc.

House League Division Convenors (8 Positions)

The role of the division convenor is to manage the assigned division, including creating teams, recruiting coaches, and dealing with day-to-day situations
during the season as they arise.

The division convenors are also members of the AKBA House League Committee that is chaired by the VP House League and provides advice and guidance to the Board on all HL related matters.
