The U13 Select Jays entered the twelve team Mississauga Majors tournament this past weekend.  On Friday night the Jays kicked off the tournament with a strong performance against the Pickering Red Sox, earning a 17-4 victory.  That was followed up Saturday morning with a come from behind 12-7 victory over the Brampton Royals.
Saturday afternoon, the Jays battled the undefeated North Toronto A’s for the division championship.  The game was a back and forth affair that came down to a final play at the plate.  Unfortunately, the close call did not go in the Jays’ favour and they dropped an 8-7 decision.
Thanks to the Jays’ strong pitching and defense throughout the tournament, they were able to capture the wild card spot and be one of just four teams to advance to the playoffs.  That is where the impressive run came to an end, as the Jays fell in the semi-final to a strong York River Dogs team.
Great work Jays!
